The Wellington Children’s Association (WCA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 association of parents and teachers organized to support the children of Wellington Day School.
Mission Statement (from the WCA bylaws):
The Wellington Children’s Association is a collection of parents and teachers working together to promote the education and well being of Wellington Day School students at home, in school, and in the community. The following objectives will be carried out and supported through conferences, committees, projects and programs, as appropriate:
i. To raise money to benefit the children of Wellington Day School.
ii. To abide by the laws/rules for the care and protection of children and youth.
iii. To enhance home/school relationships so the families and faculty cooperate in the education of children.
WCA meetings are held at 6pm the first Friday of each month. Officers are elected at the conclusion of the preceding academic year, and committees are formed throughout the school year to help drive initiatives voted on by the association.
WCA organizes fundraisers throughout the year to accomplish its annually established goals. Recent fundraisers include holiday wreath and original student artwork sales and an auction. Through its efforts, WCA has provided tools and resources to assist Wellington teachers and to enrich student experiences. WCA often covers the costs of admission and transportation for school field trips, and it consistently provides funding and manpower to support the annual play production.
WCA invites all Wellington parents to attend the next WCA meeting or event in support of the children of Wellington Day School.
